One of the simplest games to get the party started and for everyone to get to know each other is to have each person tell their funniest, most embarrassing story about the Stag. Give a small gift or purchase a lap dance for the guy who has the funniest story to tell. This should unearth some great material for the Best Man’s speech.
However, an even better way to encourage bonding and getting drunk faster is to play drinking games!! We have compiled a list of classic drinking games to play on the Stag Party divided into sections on coin, card, dice, number, word and sporting games. Decide beforehand whether the penalty will be several finger widths of beer or the messier, more expensive shots!
COIN GAMES
QUARTERSRequired Materials: Beer, an empty glass, and several coins (Note: No more than 3 coins per person).
Objective: To land your coins in the glass. Last person to have their coin land in the glass has to drink.
Rules: No person may have more than three coins in front of him/her at any one time. If anyone notices a player with more than three coins (either in their hand and/or in front of them) then they can call that person and he must drink before they can throw another coin. Throwing a coin is not actually a straight toss, but rather a bounce off the table into (hopefully!) the glass.
The player that lost the previous round starts the next initial throw. Then it is basically a free for all (remember the three coin rule). The game ends when all but one player has a coin in the glass, at which time that player loses and must consume an agreed amount of alcohol. Then everyone can start the next game when they are ready. It gets a bit confusing when all the coins get in the glass. So if there is any arguing about whose coin is in, the players who are arguing must drink and start over!
ANCHOR MAN
Two teams sit on opposite sides of a table and try to get a coin into a full pitcher of beer. To start the game flip a coin, and have a team call heads or tails in the air.
Each team member shoots a coin, trying to make it land in the pitcher. Each player only shoots once per turn even if they are successful in putting the coin in the pitcher. Once everyone on the team shoots, the other team now shoots in order. The first team to put all 4 of their coins in the pitcher is the winner. This means the losing team has to drink the contents of the pitcher. But before the losing team starts drinking, there’s a snag. The winning team has to nominate someone to be the "Anchorman".
The anchorman must drink last and finish the remaining beer, whether it is just a sip or the whole pitcher. Teammates of the anchorman must drink first and decide how much they leave for the anchorman. While drinking, the teammates cannot take their lips off of the pitcher. If they do, they must pass the pitcher to the next person. The anchorman can take his lips off of the pitcher but has a 2 minute time limit to finish the pitcher. Once he finishes the pitcher, fill it up again and play the game once more.
This game can get pretty nasty. It is not unusual to drink a couple of pitchers per person while playing this game. Choose your anchorman wisely.
CARD GAMES
ASSHOLE
The first hand is used to determine everyone's rank during the following hands. Deal out all the cards. The person to the left of the dealer starts off. The object of the game is to get rid of all your cards. When starting you can lay down any card or cards with the same face value. The player after you must lay down a card of equal or greater value. They must also use the same amount of cards as you did. If you lay down two 9's then they would have to lay down two of something equal or greater. If the player lays down the same card as the previous player then the next player is skipped and must drink. Also if you can't play any of your cards than you must skip and drink. Cards are cleared if everyone skips or a two is played.
Play continues like this until all the cards have been played. After the first hand is when the fun really begins. There is a ranking system which is as follows: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Asshole. Whoever goes out first becomes the new President for the next game, the second person becomes the Vice-President, etc... For the following rounds, anyone who ranks higher then you can tell you to drink whenever they want to.
Special Rules:
The Asshole must always deal and clear the cards. Also the Asshole must give the two best cards in their hand to the President. The President gives the two worst cards in their hand to the Asshole. If the President remains President for three consecutive rounds they can create special rules, such as the word "drink" cannot be used. If these rules are broken then the offender must drink.
F.U.B.A.R.
Shuffle a full deck of cards and scatter them in a pile in the middle of your table. One player goes at a time picking one card. They flip over their card, displaying it to everyone.
Each card has a different rule as follows:
Ace - Take one drink
2 – Take two drinks
3 - Take three drinks
4 - Questions: You look at the person of your choice and ask them a question, they must answer your question with a question and it keeps going until someone screws up. For example; “What is your name?” “Do you like pizza?” “How many beers have you had?” “Did you masturbate last night”? If someone answers “Yes/ No” to a question the penalty is to DRINK! You don't have to question the person who questioned you either. Make sure to make eye contact.
5 - Give five drinks
6 – “I Never…..” The person who flipped this card states something they have never done and anyone who has must drink. For example, “I never had sex in my car”. Those who have done this deed must take a drink.
7 – The Thumbmaster: This person puts their thumb down on the table whenever they want and the last one to put theirs down drinks. The thumbmaster can do this as many times as he wants until the seven is picked again.
8 - Categories: The first person gives a topic/category and in rotation, everyone else must give an example found in this category. For example: Category: Beer Answer: Heineken…Budwiser....Miller….Coors
9 - Rhyme: The person who gets this card must select a word and everyone else must give a word that rhymes with this word. Example: Shoe...glue...you.. etc
10 - Social: Everyone drinks.
Jack - Assholes drink ... Knock back a guy’s drink.
Queen - Bitches drink .... Knock back a girl’s drink.
King - Waterfall: This can be extremely hard, depending on your group of drinkers. It goes in order first being the one who picked the card and so on. The first person continuously drinks as much beer as they can and the second person can't stop until they stop, the third person can't stop until the second person and so on. If the guy who goes first is a big drinker, then it is really difficult for those who start after him.
DICE GAME
THREE MAN
Everyone starts off by rolling one die till someone rolls a three. This person then becomes the Three Man. The game then proceeds around the circle with people taking turns rolling the dice. The dice are only passed when someone rolls something that does not require drinking. Here is what each roll means:
When the dice total:
3 = Who ever is the three man must drink. If the three man rolls this then he may pass the title to a person of his choosing.
7 = Person to the right of "roller" drinks
9 = Person across from "roller" drinks
10 = Social...everyone drinks
11 = Person to the left of "roller" drinks
Other dice combinations:
4 & 1 = Who ever rolls this becomes the Thumb-Master. They can place their thumb on the table whenever they want. The last person to do this must drink. The Thumb-Master can only change when someone else rolls a 4 & 1.
Doubles = When someone rolls double they give the dice to someone of their choosing. This person rolls the dice and must drink for that many seconds. The dice may be given to two people instead of giving both to just one person.
Note: At any time during the game the Three Man can be told to drink. However the person currently rolling may not tell the Three Man to drink. If he does, then he himself must drink.
NUMBER GAMES
BUZZ:Buzz is a counting game for 4 or more people. The first person says "one" and everyone counts forward around the circle using the following rules: a person must say BUZZ when their number is one of the following:
- A multiple of 7 (7, 14, 21, 28...)
- A number with the number 7 in it (7, 17, 27, etc.)
- A double digit number (11, 22, 33, etc.)
When a person says BUZZ, play changes direction. This gets particularly interesting the realms of 26, 27, 28, 29 as it would go: person 1: “26”, person 2: “buzz”, person 1 (again): “buzz”, person two (by this time is probably confused): 29.
The first person to screw up has to drink and then the whole game starts over at one.
PAR ONE HUNDRED
This is a classic game that gets the whole group involved and screw ups result in liquid punishment. It appears at first to be very simple. But after the first round it gets messy and there is enormous potential for stitch-ups.
The game begins by one of the group choosing a number between 1 and 100, use a mobile phone or write the number down as the game goes on, you probably will forget. However, any player caught looking up the number will incur a stiff penalty.
In this example, the selected number is 69 The first player then calls 'to my left par 100, the person to his immediate left then gives a number between 1 and 100, in this case he gives the number 25, as 69 is between 25 and 100 the call is 25 -100, its now the turn of the person on his left to call a number between 25-100, this seems very simple but trust me some one will call a number outside that bracket, and when they do, its a fine.
Lets say that the second person in the game calls 78, the call now is 25-78, the game continues around the table until the number (69) is called by a lucky person, once the number is given then that person drinks his punishment. Fine completed; this person then starts the game off again.
If the number is called on the first go then the person who started the game drinks the fine. If it is called on the second go, then that person and the game starter both drink the fine.
WORD GAMES
FUZZY DUCK
A classic drinking game that many will have played before, for those of you that haven't here's how it goes. The group sits in a circle, preferably around a table.
One person starts the game by saying "Fuzzy Duck". The person to the left follows by either saying "Fuzzy Duck" again or saying "Does he?" If someone says "Does he?" the direction of the game changes and the person to the right must say "Ducky Fuzz".
If someone says "Does he?" then the direction changes again and you go back to saying "Fuzzy Duck". This continues until someone screws up. That person must drink. The point of the game is to say it very fast. Any pause will also cause a person to have to drink
BOUNCING BALL:
Supplies: Alcohol, 4 or more people and an imaginary ball.
Everyone sits around a table. There are only three words that can be said: WHIZ, BOUNCE and BOING. Someone starts by saying one of the words.
WHIZ = The ball passes to next player
BOUNCE = The ball skips the next player and goes to the following player
BOING = The ball hits wall and reverses direction
The penalty for errors is drinking.
SPORTS GAMES
Up to 20 people can play. Start off with everyone throwing a dart with the opposite of their throwing arm. What ever number they hit is their number for the rest of the game. KILLER (DARTS)
You then switch back to your natural throw. Now the players try to hit their one number until they add up to 7 points. A double is worth 2 and a triple, 3.
After they reach 7 they can go after other people's numbers. Every time they hit an opponent's number they give them that many drinks and take away that many of the opponent's points. Doubles and triples count here too. If the opponent goes into the negative and can't pull themselves out on their next turn they have to slam the remainder of their drink and then they are out of the game. You can't go after other people until after you reach 7 points.
If someone hits a bull they can either give themselves two points if they need it or give two drinks to whoever they want. If a dart misses the circle or the board altogether than that person must take a drink and loses a point.
KILLER (POOL)
This is a very simple but effective drinking game for as many people as you like. Rack ‘em up and decide how is going to break the pack. The guy on the break has two shots to pot a ball, any color ball.
Apart from the break you only have one shot to pot a ball, failing to pot a ball results in drinking a fine, the person potting the black gets the privilege of nominating 2 people to drink the fine.
FLIPS
For this you will need a plentiful supply of coasters and beer. The coasters should be the cheap cardboard ones found in most bars. The game is played right at the bar or on a table.
It begins with one coaster placed at the edge of the table. The object is to flick the coaster, with a finger, in the air and catch it, with the same hand, before it hits the table.
Each round gives participants one chance to flip and catch the coaster(s). Those who cannot catch it have to drink the amount of coasters that were caught by the previous player. Play starts with one coaster and increases by one each round.
RELAY RACE:
Supplies: Beer, at least four people and two glasses for each person.
Divide everybody up into two even teams. Each team lines up opposite each other, preferably down a long table. Fill each glass full of beer and place them on the table in front of each player. The players can not touch their glasses before they are allowed.
The first players on each team start the game by drinking the first glass and setting the empty glass back on the table. When the glass touches the table the second person drinks his first glass of beer and sets his glass on the table. This continues until the last "turn-around" player of the team is up. He must drink both of his glasses of beer in a row. When he has finished the glasses, then the previous player drinks his second glass of beer.
This continues until the player who drank the first glass drinks his last glass. The first team to place their last empty glass on the table wins.
PUB GOLF
Head straight for the 19th hole for this game of golf! In this drinking game, you exchange 18 or 9 holes for 18 or 9 pubs.
Each pub is giving a par and score cards are produced accordingly. On entering each pub, the number of attempts the player has to finish his drink correlates to the par of the pub. It is recommended that the drinks are maybe half pints or shorts. You could also partner up or form a four ball to make sure there’s no cheating by anyone in your group!
The winner on the day is the man who finishes the course with 18 holes in one.
